Training Log - May 22, 2007

Took last Thursday off due to feeling under the weather. Janet (my wife) has strep and I wasn't sure if I was coming down with it as well. Feeling much better now.

Took the family to Highbanks Metro Park on Sunday to get my weekend walk in. Took the Overlook trail. 2.35 miles of scenic trail. Several good sized hills so the legs got a good workout. Did come across a 2.5 - 3 foot snake sunning itself on the trail. It saw me coming and slithered off into the woods. The temperature was about 75 with some humidity.

Sent out some of my fundraising e-mails this morning. Good to get going on that. I am looking forward to hearing back from family and friends. I also sent an e-mail to Alwyn Cosgrove. It was his Lift Strong CD that started me on this journey. Just wanted to thank him for his inspirational story. He would probably shrug it off and say that others have had it worse. I also wanted to ask his permission to train and walk in his honor as a leukemia/lymphoma survivor.
