Training Log - June 20, 2007

Once again bringing everyone up to speed with the training. Everything is moving along. Got over whatever I had last week and did get a walk in on Thursday at Creekside. Did it in 1 hour 18 seconds.

We had a great training clinic on Saturday. It was with the doctors from the Ohio State University Sports Medicine Endurance sports group. They spoke about how to avoid injuries. Mostly how to stretch correctly. They also had a nutritionist that works with the football team and wrestling teams at OSU. Her topic was how to eat enough while training and also be watching your weight. It was tailored just for me.

Walked at Antrim again on Saturday night. Only did 3 miles that night. Did it in 51:20. I spoke to the TNT walking coach at the clinic. She told me that when I do my mileage during the week that it should be at my usual pace and not to be a slow walk. So I will be back to my usual speed.

Today I walked at Creekside again. Sunny with a slight breeze. Temps in the 75 degree range. Completed the 3.05 miles in 49:28. Felt great.

My fund raising continues to amaze me. I have received over $450 in donations! I am also amazed at some of the stories that I am hearing from people. It truly is humbling to hear what others have gone thru or have watched in dealing with these diseases.
